Résumé
This presentation will shed light on gendered uses of code-switching in the SMS messages of Lebanese undergraduates and how such gender differences are interwoven with a set of sociolinguistic variables. There are significant gender distinctions in regard to the age of the recipient, the social class and religion of the sender as well as the intra- or inter-gender nature of the communication.
